July, 2006: NEWS RELEASE
Home Theater Store Celebrates the Opening of a New Dallas Location with
Vendors and Suppliers.
Dallas, TX -- July 23rd, 2006 – Home Theater Store opened the doors to its newest location in Dallas with a special
Vendor Event Thursday, July 13th. The latest venue in the Home Theater Store family is located on the cusp of
Highland Park off Knox/Henderson and Central Expressway.
“Our new Dallas location follows the model we built three years ago in Southlake, Texas,” said Mihir Mody, CEO
of Texas-based Home Theater Store. “This revolutionary solution model displays high-tech audio video components
and furnishing in fashion to provide an engaging and entertaining shopping experience”.
The evening began with cocktails, followed by a brief visit to Mody & Mody, a high-end furnishings and accessory
store operated by the Mody family. Sixty of the most influential people in the CE industry were treated to an
exclusive “Thank You” dinner hosted by the Mody family at Abacus, a renowned Dallas restaurant in the Highland
Park shopping district. The evening concluded with a champagne toast back at the Home Theater Store showroom
where guests once again marveled at the stunning showroom’s interior lighting effects and design.
This showroom capitalizes on the popularity of flat-panel televisions, displays a variety of European engineered
furniture and countless innovative installation solutions. From dramatic back-lit wall systems and clever component
storage solutions to fully motorized lifts and wall-mounts, the showroom stimulates the imagination of Home
Theater Store customers and turns “lookers” into buyers. And for the customer who thinks they’ve seen everything,
there’s even a 60” projection screen that rises out of the footboard of a king-sized bed to create the ultimate bedroom
home theater.
“Our vision was to design an environment in which clients, architects, designers or custom builders can wander
around the showroom to explore and find a perfect solution for their custom needs in a same manner as one would
go to a decorative center to select fabrics or furniture of choice,” Mody added.
Unlike other events in the CE industry, the Mody family chose to sponsor an event exclusively for their vendors and
suppliers.
“We wanted our vendor partners to better understand how Home Theater Store built a model that is weaving
technology into fashion and lifestyle to continue growth in an industry where price erosion is accelerating and
technological differentiation is disappearing,” Mody said.
Home Theater Store combines an understanding of technology fashion with fine design to create luxurious
entertainment environments. The flagship retail operation, works closely with two companion companies that
provide complementary high-end services for clients. “GEL” provides lifestyle design, engineering and installation
services directly with clients, or in collaboration with clients’ architects, designers or builders. “Mody & Mody” markets high-end furnishings and accessories internationally recognized for workmanship and creativity that offer
alternatives to traditional interior environments in a store with everything for the home and office under one roof.
Together, the three companies are able to provide an unprecedented amount of complementary services and
solutions for their respective clienteles.
Based in Houston, Texas, Home Theater Store was founded in 1986 by the Mody family and continues to be a
family operated business, led by Mihir Mody. It has been recognized as an industry leader in both its approach to
selling design, and ability to satisfy customers’ installation needs.
Home Theater Store has been listed as “Top 10 Custom Installer Company of the Year” in three out of the past four
years by Audio Video International magazine as well as in top 100 CE retailers in the nation by Twice magazine in
2006. |
